แหวนทองเหลืองย้อนหลัง - ดวงใจ (สาวิกา ไชยเดช ) ได้ยินกำนันปานคุยกับทิดอ่วมว่ากฤษดา (พันโทวันชนะ สวัสดี) เป็นนายทหารอาจจะต้องไปรบด้วย ก็รู้สึกเสียใจ จึงวิ่งออกไปที่วัดร้างในป่าเพื่อขอพรให้พระคุ้มครองกฤษดา โดยมีหนานอุยที่แอบหลงรักดวงใจคอยวิ่งตามไปเป็นเพื่อนด้วย สายคำสังเกตุเห็นดวงใจชอบเข้าไปพูดกับรูปของกฤษดาบนบ้านใหญ่ ก็คิดว่าดวงใจต้องหลงรักกฤษดาแน่ๆ จึงได้คอยเตือนดวงใจเอาไว้ และบอกว่ากฤษดากับดวงใจนั้นอยู่คนละชั้นกัน

However, his defence of Agriculture Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob's controversial Facebook post has come under fire. – The Malaysian Insider pic, February 5, 2015.Tan Sri Joseph Kurup has urged the nation's moderates to step up their fight against elements of extremism, just days after he defended his Cabinet colleague over a racially-tinged remark against Chinese businesses.Kurup, a minister in charge of unity, said that the fight against extremism should be taken on by ordinary Malaysians, who make up the "silent majority", before such elements could be cultivated."The moderates or the silent majority should be brave enough to face and strongly oppose extremist elements before this group finds a 'safe environment' for them to develop in the country," he said today at an event in conjunction with this year's World Interfaith Harmony Week.Extremism, Kurup said, is a form of threat to the safety and the sovereignty of the country and it is feared that these elements could change what the nation has been fighting for in the last 50 years."Extremism and intolerance, if not watched, can eventually cripple our vision to build a society that is fair and balanced where those of different faiths living together in harmony becomes an impossible dream," he added.The minister's statements came just days after he defended Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob's racially-tinged call for Malays to boycott Chinese businesses, saying that it was "well-intended" and aimed at galvanising consumers to avoid premises that hike up prices indiscriminately."I think it is well-intended. He is asking people, for example the Malay community, to do their own enforcement by not going to premises that are still increasing the prices of their goods," he told The Malaysian Insider on Monday.Ismail courted controversy after he wrote in a Facebook post that Malay consumers had a role in helping Putrajaya fight profiteers by using their collective power to lower the price of goods."The majority of consumers are Malay, Chinese are a minority. If the Malays boycott their businesses, they will surely have no choice but to reduce their prices," the agriculture and agro-based industries minister wrote on his Facebook page.He also singled out the OldTown White Coffee chain owned by OldTown Bhd, saying DAP MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham owned shares in the company."As long as the Malays don't change, the Chinese will take the opportunity to oppress the Malays," the Bera MP said.Kurup today highlighted examples of where the people helped their fellow countrymen, without looking at race or religion, including the recent flood disaster which saw thousands in the east coast losing their homes."In fact, the same thing can be seen in the MH370 and MH17 incidents where those of different faiths had shared their pain by praying together, in honour of the victims, according to their religions," he added.Kurup was referring to Beijing-bound MH370, which went missing on March 8 with 239 crew and passengers and MH17, which was heading from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, but was shot down by militants over Ukrainian airspace in July, killing all 298 people on board."Be assured that 'Belief in God', which is the first principle of our Rukun Negara will ensure that we are respectful of one another and live in a society that is safe and peaceful," Kurup said. – February 5, 2015.

Kim Reynolds on Jan. 16, 2015, in Des Moines.(Photo: Bryon Houlgrave, The Des Moines Register)Does Joni Ernst, the military commander who won an $85 million U.S. Senate battle last fall, have what it takes to one day become commander in chief?Yes, according to 58% of Republicans who are likely to vote on the presidential candidates competing in the Iowa caucuses next year."She's not afraid of a fight," said GOP poll respondent Josh Ehlen, a 33-year-old commercial insurance broker who lives in Waukee.But more than a quarter (26%) of those Republican voters say no, she doesn't, according to a new Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll. In follow-up interviews, some said they voted for her and think she has moxie, but much goes into preparation for being president, and at this early stage, Ernst remains untested."So far, she's underdeveloped," said Republican poll respondent John Sabotta, a 42-year-old Cedar Rapids retail worker, "and she used some simple phrases repeatedly."Iowa Democrats are more sure Ernst, 44, lacks what it would take to eventually become president: 82% of likely Democratic caucusgoers say she doesn't. She's a polarizing figure for Democrats, who think her conservatism will harm Iowa."I'm really surprised she got elected — really surprised," said Democratic poll respondent Emily Obert, a 34-year-old customer support specialist for a Cedar Rapids company. "There was so much negative advertising about her. I can't believe people didn't listen. It's as if nobody paid attention."Obert said Ernst is way too conservative for her, because of Ernst's opposition to abortion, her friendliness with big corporate donors and her apparent support for the Koch brothers' agenda."She kind of represents everything that makes me want to throw up in the morning — and I'm not even pregnant," Obert said.Still, a small portion of those likely Democratic caucusgoers (11%) believe she's got the right stuff, the poll shows.The Iowa Poll of 402 likely Republican caucusgoers and 401 likely Democratic caucusgoers was conducted Jan. 26-29 by Selzer & Co. of Des Moines.Ernst in June 2014 won a five-person GOP primary by pitching herself as a full-spectrum Republican who could appeal to conservatives and more moderate voters. She claimed 92 of the state's 99 counties and 56% of the Republican vote, while being outspent by a wealthy competitor.At the start of the general election, Democrat Bruce Braley had $2 million in cash on hand compared with Ernst's $40,000, but she was buoyed by a risky TV ad that played up her ability to cut both hog testicles and budgets. Braley's campaign was deflated by TV ads that played a video clip of him seemingly disparaging popular longtime U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa.Despite polling that showed the race excruciatingly close for months, Ernst won in November by 8.3 percentage points.Ernst, who replaced Democratic U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin upon his retirement at age 75, is one of the most high-profile politicians to come out of Iowa in state history. She is Iowa's first female member of Congress, and she's the nation's first female military veteran in the U.S. Senate. So far, she has made a mark for herself by co-sponsoring legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act and by blasting President Obama's proposed budget. She voted for the Keystone XL pipeline, and against a wind energy tax credit.And she gave the response to the president's State of the Union address just two weeks into her term — a signal that GOP leaders see her as an up-and-comer. Ernst attracts such broad media attention that even her shoes (camouflage-print pumps) became a topic of national discussion that night. The shoe manufacturer, Aerosoles, now advertises the heels with an "as seen on the State of the Union" tag.Republican poll respondent Tiffinay Batey, 34, of Conroy said Ernst has a certain presence about her, as a compelling speaker and a member of the military with leadership qualities."I think she's a strong woman," said Batey, an in-home day care provider and mom. "I like the all-around way she carries herself."Poll respondent Susan Geddes, a GOP campaign consultant who works in the Iowa Senate during the legislative session, also sees presidential qualities in Ernst. Geddes watched Ernst in action during Ernst's three years as a state senator representing a southwest Iowa district."She's really an analytical thinker. She's not an emotional voter," said Geddes, 51, of Indianola. "She looks at all the pieces of information. Responses were adjusted by age, sex and congressional district to reflect all active voters in the voter registration list.Questions based on the subsamples of 401 likely Democratic caucus attendees and 402 likely Republican caucus attendees have a maximum margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points. DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang questions the purpose to the police probe on Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob following the Cabinet's decision to exonerate the agriculture and agri-based industries minister yesterday. – The Malaysian Insider pic, February 5, 2015.The police have been made to look foolish for investigating Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob over a racist statement he made as the Cabinet has already cleared the minister of any wrongdoing, the DAP said today.The party's parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang was referring to police hauling up Ismail over his call for a boycott of Chinese businesses after a statement by the Prime Minister's Department, which defended the minister."After the Cabinet meeting, the police today called up Ismail Sabri for investigation over his racist call on his Facebook to Malay consumers to boycott Chinese business, which prompted my tweet: 'Sheer rigmarole when PMO has cleared Ismail Sabri'," the Gelang Patah MP said in Sarikei last night."This has only made the police, the overwhelming majority of whom are dedicated and professional officers, committed to the duty to maintain peace and uphold law and order, look very foolish."Lim also noted that the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar's Twitter had been "strangely quiet" after Ismail's statement went viral although he was quick to take to the social networking site to direct his men to investigate non-Barisan Nasional politicians or civil society members."I had occasion to ask Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar whether his Twitter account had broken down or whether Bukit Aman had suffered a breakdown of Internet access, as he had been strangely quiet for several hours on his account."It was a few hours after my tweet that Khalid took to the Twitter to say Ismail would be investigated, but all this was only for show, full of light and thunder but meaning nothing," he added.In a strongly-worded speech, Lim also fired at the Cabinet for coming to Ismail's defence, saying that all 35 ministers have been shown to have "comprehension" problems worse than ordinary school children, who are already several years behind their peers in other countries, as shown in international assessment tests."It is fortunate that the 35 Cabinet ministers did not represent the country in these Pisa and TIMSS tests or Malaysia would be 10 or even more years behind other countries," he said, referring to the Programme for International Student Assessment and the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study respectively."This is because even the average school children would not have made the colossal error committed by the 35 ministers in concluding that the call by Ismail Sabri to Malay consumers to boycott Chinese businesses was not targeting Chinese traders alone but aimed at all traders."Ismail, the Bera MP, courted controversy after he wrote in a Facebook post that Malay consumers had a role in helping Putrajaya fight profiteers by using their collective power to lower the price of goods."The majority of consumers are Malay, Chinese are a minority, if the Malays boycott their businesses, they will surely have no choice but to reduce their prices," the agriculture and agro-based industries minister wrote on his Facebook page.He also singled out the OldTown White Coffee chain owned by OldTown Bhd, saying DAP MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham owned shares in the company."As long as the Malays don't change, the Chinese will take the opportunity to oppress the Malays," said Ismail.A statement from the Prime Minister's Department yesterday, following a Cabinet meeting, defended Ismail, saying the minister had not targeted any specific race with his social media post.Instead, it was "meant to rebuke traders who refuse to lower the price of goods" despite the drop in fuel prices," the statement said."The Cabinet meeting is the most disgraceful in the nation's history as the Cabinet ministers just fell short of former Umno youth leaders who gathered yesterday with the 'I am Ismail Sabri' placard endorsement," said Lim."It shows that the 35 ministers are incapable of taking a stand on the great rights and wrongs in the country."Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region, gender or age will have to pass judgement on the quality and character of the 35 Cabinet members, for no Malaysian has brought more shame and disgrace to the country's international reputation and standing than the ministers themselves since the start of the new year." – February 5, 2015.

The two Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) academicians, who Lim Kit Siang had labelled as "kangkung professors", have hit back at the DAP adviser.They said his comments had not only degraded the integrity of intellectuals but also reflected his immaturity on the right and freedom of academics to give their views on any issue.UUM senior lecturer in Political and International Studies Md Shukri Shuib said based on the research and studies that they carry out, academics have the right to give their comments and analyses of current issues, including the DAP's proposal to hold local council elections in Penang."As academics, and also as members of the civil service, we can give our comments and views on current issues, including those involving the Barisan Nasional government's policies. Is he (Lim) afraid of being criticised by the academics and worried that what we say will have an impact on his party?"If he had arbitrarily labelled us 'kangkung professors' in order to tarnish the image of the institutions of higher learning and academics, then he can be called an 'obsolete and senile politician' who likes to nag and is undemocratic, as well as boring because he's always highlighting outdated ideas," he told Bernama. Shukri was commenting on the veteran DAP leader's blog posting on February 1, in which Lim described Md Shukri and Prof Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed as "kangkung professors", after a Bernama report which carried the views of both the academicians on the local council polls issue.The report had quoted them as saying that the DAP's struggle to implement local government elections was not only an attempt to turn Penang into an autonomous state, but also challenged a ruling passed by the nation's apex court and contravened the Federal Constitution.In his blog Lim said, among other things: "With Umno’s kangkung professors running riot with their illiterate interpretation of national developments, Malaysia’s university ranking can only plunge further south without hope of restoring our former world-class university status."Shukri said it was embarrassing when experienced and senior policians like Lim, failed to be noble and behave in a rational manner."He's not a suitable leader for Malaysians as he is teaching the people to belittle others," he added.He added that the DAP should consider removing Lim as party adviser and replacing him with someone more dynamic like Senator Dr Ariffin S. M. Omar, a former university professor from Penang.Martadha, meanwhile, said Lim did not at all touch on the Federal Court ruling that the Local Government Election Enactment passed by the Penang government in 2012 was in contravention of the Federal Constitution."The court's decision was based on the provisions under Section 15 of the Local Government Act 1976, which clearly prohibit local councils from having their own elections. Lim's allegations have no basis because my comments were based on the Federal Court's decision."The 1968 Athi Nahappan report became invalid when Section 15 of the Local Government Act 1976 came into force. The views of the former leaders and the Athi Nahappan report are immaterial now because they are overruled by the provisions under Section 15 of the Local Government Act 1976, which all local councils must adhere to," he said. – Bernama, February 5, 2015.
